Emily McMahill, PharmD
Emily is a full-time resident of Gunnison. Born and raised in Colorado,
Emily elected to stay in-state for undergrad and earned her BA in Chemistry
from Western. Following her bachelor’s, Emily earned her PharmD
from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. After completing a residency
with Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care, Emily worked as an
ambulatory care pharmacist at the PFC Floyd K Lindstrom Department of
Veterans Affairs Clinic. Ultimately, a love for the valley and teaching
brought Emily back to Gunnison. She has been working at Western Colorado
University for the last 8 years and currently serves as the Director of
the Center for Rural Mountain Allied Health. This will be Emily’s
first formal board appointment; however, she is committed to various service
activities including serving as the campus liaison for Vitalant blood
drives and acting as the faculty advisor for Western’s Pre-Health
Club. Emily’s role at Western allows her to interact regularly with
individuals that work for Gunnison Valley Health. Emily is impressed by
the healthcare that Gunnison Valley Health provides, but also understands
there are opportunities to further strengthen this thriving organization.
As such, Emily is committed to being a well-informed, hard-working and
passionate member of the board.
