Jason Amrich, Chief Executive Officer
Jason Amrich is the CEO of Gunnison Valley Health (GVH), a comprehensive rural health system and critical access hospital serving the greater Gunnison and Crested Butte Valley communities. Since December 2021, Jason has led GVH with a focus on enhancing healthcare access and quality in rural settings.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, Jason has a diverse background
as both a clinician and a senior executive. His career includes significant
roles at renowned organizations such as Beth Israel Deaconess Medical
Center, Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals, the Boulder Center for Sports
Medicine, Kaiser Permanente, and UCHealth, where he was instrumental in
opening Longs Peak Hospital in 2017. As a physical therapist, Jason has
worked closely with world-class athletes and cyclists, specializing in
rehabilitation and medical bike fittings. Transitioning to administrative
roles, he has managed multi-specialty physician clinics, directed regional
service lines, and overseen day-to-day operations of community hospitals.
Jason holds a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University and an
MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Colorado –
Denver. He has also completed Green Belt Lean training certifications,
underscoring his commitment to efficiency and quality improvement.
Active in his local community, Jason serves on several boards and commissions,
including as the Rural Liaison for ACHE of the Rockies, Colorado Healthcare
Affordability and Sustainability Enterprise (CHASE), Care Flight of the
Rockies, Western Healthcare Alliance, Community Foundation of the Gunnison
Valley, and the Gunnison Valley Health Foundation. He is also a core team
member of the Colorado Rural Futures Coalition.
