Gunnison Valley Health has teamed up with the Colorado Fetal Care Center at Children’s Hospital Colorado and St. Mary’s Medical Center to provide services at the hospital for families facing high-risk pregnancies.
Gunnison Valley Health’s Director of Imaging and Cardiopulmonary Services, Brett Bruce, said the service includes maternal fetal medicine specialists visiting the Valley each month to monitor, diagnose and treat all high-risk fetal conditions affecting expectant mothers.
“The Colorado Fetal Care Center is renowned as one of the most comprehensive fetal care programs in the nation,” Bruce said. “Innovative imaging techniques, advanced treatment and fetal care specialists ensure families in the Gunnison Valley receive the earliest possible diagnosis and care for high-risk fetal conditions.
Bruce commented that families faced with fetal anomalies were previously forced to seek care outside of the Valley.
“Bringing new life into the world is one of the most memorable experiences,” he said. “For families with high-risk pregnancies, it’s peace of mind knowing they will receive the best care available in the nation right here in the Valley.”
Gunnison Valley Health’s CEO, Rob Santilli, said the health system is continuously looking at opportunities to partner with organizations to deliver a wide range of services to the community.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Children’s Hospital Colorado to bring a valuable fetal care service to our community,” Santilli said. “Aligning ourselves with specialist organizations means our community members can have access to specialized providers and receive the best possible care without leaving the Valley,” he said.
Children’s Hospital Colorado Maternal Fetal Medicine providers will visit Gunnison Valley Health on the third Tuesday of each month starting August 18th. To schedule an appointment, call St. Mary’s Maternal Fetal Medicine office at (970) 298-2275 or speak to your obstetrician-gynecologist or primary care provider.
