On Thursday, April 28, Gunnison Valley Health is inviting the community to come out for an informative and fun evening dedicated to helping families stay safe this summer. Fun in the Sun: Tips to Help Kids of All Ages Healthy this Summer will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Center for the Arts in Crested Butte.
Gunnison Valley Health CEO, Jason Amrich, said that the goal is to help families have the knowledge they need to keep the entire family healthy.
“We all choose to live here because of incredible opportunities to be outside having fun,” Amrich said. “Our active lifestyles sometimes come with added risk and chances for injury.”
The event will feature pediatrician Dr. Amanda Hill discussing water safety; occupational therapist, Erin Sanborn and physical therapist Emma Lohr discussing helmets, concussions and injuries; and behavioral health providers Kimberly Behounek and Betty Sue Gurk discussing mental health tips for the whole family.
The event is family-friendly and Gunnison Valley Health will provide pizza and non-alcoholic beverages for all attendees.
Fun in the Sun is part of a monthly education series sponsored by the Gunnison Valley Health Foundation. The goal of the series to provide the community with a diverse range of information from Gunnison Valley Health experts and community partners.
