Gunnison Valley Health Welcomes Pediatrician Amanda Hill to the Family Medicine Clinic

Beginning March 7, Gunnison Valley Health’s Family Medicine Clinic will include the expertise of board-certified pediatrician Dr. Amanda Hill, MD, FAAP. Dr. Hill comes to Gunnison Valley Health with many years of experience caring for children in both outpatient and hospital-based settings. Dr. Hill will be replacing Dr. Charlie Hastings who is leaving Colorado to start a pediatric clinic in Montana.
For the past 18 months, Dr. Hastings has been Gunnison Valley Health’s only pediatrician and is confident that Dr. Hill is the right person to continue providing specialized care to children in our community.
“I want to thank the community so much for trusting me with the care of their children during my 18 months in Gunnison,” Hastings said. “It has truly been a pleasure to be a part of the community. I believe that Dr. Hill will provide excellent pediatric care and will continue to build pediatric services for families in the Gunnison Valley.”
Dr. Hill is a board-certified pediatrician with many years of experience in both outpatient and hospital settings. She received her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Colorado. Most recently, Dr. Hill has worked as the primary pediatrician for Grand Valley Pediatrics in Grand Junction. Her practice included both outpatient care and care of patients at both Community Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center. Her familiarity with pediatric resources and services available throughout Colorado’s Western Slope will be a great benefit to families in the Gunnison Valley.
Gunnison Valley Health CEO, Jason Amrich, expressed his optimism for the future of pediatrics at Gunnison Valley Health.
“We were fortunate to have Dr. Hastings join Gunnison Valley Health and build a solid foundation for the care and treatment of our community’s youngest residents,” Amrich said. “I wish Dr. Hastings the best and look forward to working with Dr. Hill to expand pediatric services in the valley. Her experience and skill will be an immense benefit to the health system and the community.”
Dr. Hill will begin seeing patients right away with the support of Dr. Hastings to ensure that there is continuity of care for patients and their families.
“I am thrilled to join the Gunnison Valley Health team and provide pediatric care to my new community,” Hill said. “I look forward to the opportunity to build on the momentum created by Dr. Hastings and continue development of services for children.
