Gunnison Valley Health recently announced a significant enhancement to their orthopedic program through utilization of the Zimmer Biomet’s ROSA® Knee System. Dr. Blake Clifton has expertise in robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery and is utilizing the technology with his patients.
Gunnison Valley Health CEO, Jason Amrich, stressed how the technology will elevate overall patient experience.
“The addition of the ROSA® system represents a remarkable leap forward in our commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care,” Amrich said. “Adding this cutting-edge technology elevates patient experience at Gunnison Valley Orthopedics and raises the bar for safety and quality within our total joint program.”
The ROSA® Knee System seamlessly blends advanced robotic technology with top-notch knee implants to empower our surgeons in personalizing total joint surgical procedures for our patients. This remarkable system is designed to assist in total knee replacement surgery, offering crucial features such as precise bone resections and real-time assessment of soft tissues for optimal implant positioning during surgery. ROSA® Knee also provides invaluable data to guide our surgeons in complex decision-making. By harnessing computer and software technology, it grants our surgical team unprecedented control and flexibility, ultimately resulting in greater precision during procedures.
In conjunction with the ROSA® system, we are also introducing the Zimmer mymobility app. This app will serve as a surgical companion for our patients, both before and after orthopedic surgery. Surgeons can now effortlessly send educational content and therapy reminders directly to the patient's smartphone. Furthermore, the app allows us to monitor patient activity levels throughout their preparation and recovery periods, ensuring the utmost care and attention at every step.
Dr. Blake Clifton, Medical Director of Orthopedics at Gunnison Valley Health, stressed the benefits of the technology for everyone involved in the procedures.
“For everyone involved – surgeons, medical staff and, most importantly, patients – ROSA® Knee has the potential to offer a number of key benefits and advantages,” Clifton said. “We know the decision to have joint replacement is often a difficult one, and we believe these technologies have the potential to improve our patient’s experience moving forward.”
