Gunnison Valley Health recently announced the addition of Internist, Dr. Lauren Sullenberger, to the Gunnison Valley Health Family Medicine Clinic. Dr. Sullenberger fills the internal medicine gap created by the departure of Dr. Kenny Anderson.
Gunnison Valley Health CEO, Jason Amrich, said that Dr. Sullenberger’s skill and patient-centered approach will be a great fit for Gunnison Valley Health and the community.
“Dr. Sullenberger is a wonderful addition to our primary care team, her skills and expertise will enable her to provide the highest quality of care to our community,” Amrich said. “As a Board-Certified Internist, Dr. Sullenberger is going to help strengthen the primary care offered at our Family Medicine Clinic.”
Dr. Sullenberger attended medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences and completed her internal medicine residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. After residency she moved to Pueblo, Colorado where she practiced as a hospitalist and nocturnist at Parkview Medical Center.
Dr. Sullenberger said that her focus as a primary care physician is a holistic approach to medicine incorporating all aspects of health, including preventative medicine.
“I believe that as a provider it is my job to keep patients at the center of my practice and approach each person’s care based on their individual needs,” Dr. Sullenberger said. “In general, I am very down to earth and understand that there is no one size fits all approach to care. I am excited to join a well-established team that provides excellent care to the community.
Dr. Sullenberger relocated to Gunnison with her family in April of this year. Outside of work she enjoys gardening, photography and outdoor activities like hiking.
“The Gunnison Valley has already become my home and I look forward to the opportunity to provide care to fellow members of this incredible community,” Dr. Sullenberger said.
