Dr. Blake Clifton to Join U.S. Women’s Alpine Ski Team in Slovenia for FIS Alpine Ski World Cup

Gunnison Valley Health proudly announces that Dr. Blake Clifton, a leading orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Gunnison Valley Orthopedics, will accompany the U.S. Women’s Alpine Ski Team to Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, for the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup taking place January 2 – 5, 2025.

Dr. Clifton’s involvement with the U.S. Ski Team spans over eight years, during which he has traveled the globe to provide expert care to some of the world’s most celebrated athletes, including Ted Ligety, Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin. As Shiffrin nears a historic milestone with 99 World Cup victories, there is anticipation she could achieve her 100th win in Kranjska Gora if she recovers from her current injury in time to compete.
