As part of this commitment, we are thrilled to introduce several outstanding providers who have recently joined our Family Medicine Clinic team. Their diverse expertise and dedication to patient-centered care will enhance the services we provide and strengthen the well-being of our community.
Kira Kitchens, DNP, FNP-C
Kira Kitchens, DNP, FNP-C, joined our team in January 2025 as a family nurse practitioner. With a background in cardiac care, family medicine and urgent care, Kira brings valuable experience from her time managing a diverse patient panel in rural Montana. She is highly skilled in procedures such as suturing, splinting and IV therapy. Kira’s evidence-based approach and commitment to helping patients feel their best make her a vital addition to our clinic.
Julia Mochulsky, PA-C
In February 2025, we welcomed Julia Mochulsky, PA-C, to our primary care team. Julia is a familiar and trusted provider, having served the Gunnison Valley community as an orthopedic provider for the past five years. She prioritizes continuity of care and values open communication—ensuring her patients feel heard, informed and supported in their health journeys. Her patient-centered approach will continue to provide comprehensive support for long-term well-being.
Sam Elzay, PA-C, MSPH
Joining us in March 2025 is Sam Elzay, PA-C, MSPH. With a strong background in acute illness, work-related injuries, orthopedics, urgent care and family medicine, Sam brings a holistic approach to patient care. His dedication to addressing both clinical and social factors that impact health aligns with our mission to help patients maintain active lifestyles and pursue the activities they love.
Dr. Clinton McBride, MD
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Clinton McBride, MD, whose extensive experience and passion for patient care will be an asset across multiple areas at GVH. Dr. McBride is board-certified in family medicine and brings expertise in family medicine, obstetrics, hospitalist care and specialty procedures.
His impressive background includes a BA in Integrative Physiology and Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an Undergraduate Certificate in Neuroscience, and a medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency in Ventura and a Maternal/Child Health Fellowship at Santa Paula Hospital. Additionally, he holds a California Intern Teaching Credential in High School Biology and is an Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) instructor.
Dr. McBride’s Role at GVH Includes:
- Family Medicine Clinic: Providing family medicine obstetrics, including prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
- Hospitalist Team: Delivering high-quality care to patients admitted to our medical-surgical department.
- Specialty Clinic: Performing colonoscopies to support our specialty care services.
His ability to seamlessly integrate these roles reflects his holistic approach to healthcare and deep commitment to our patients.
