When it comes to oncology treatment, every detail matters—from the expertise of your providers to the comfort of your surroundings. At Gunnison Valley Health, we are proud to offer a comprehensive suite of oncology services that deliver advanced care with a personal touch. Board-certified hematologist and oncologist. Dr. Paulette Blanchet, the highly skilled nursing team and the oncology-specific nurse navigator work together to ensure exceptional, patient-centered care and support.

Bringing Cancer Care Closer to Home

Cancer treatments can be multifaceted and complex leading to feelings of uncertainty, stress or being overwhelmed at times. Our oncology team works closely with patients and their families to ensure they feel informed, empowered and supported throughout their journey. This collaborative approach facilitates open communication and shared decision making between you and your care team.

Given the complexity of cancer care, many patients consult with specialists across various healthcare centers, so our team works collaboratively to ensure the best possible outcomes and the highest level of expertise in your treatment.  We work closely with physicians in other communities, enabling part-time residents and visitors to continue their therapy while staying in the Gunnison Valley.

More Than Cancer Care: Infusion Therapy

The GVH oncology team offers comprehensive infusion services, treating a wide range of conditions beyond cancer. Infusion therapy administers medication intravenously that cannot otherwise be taken orally. For many patients with conditions such as multiple sclerosis (MS), Crohn’s disease, anemia, iron-deficiency and osteoporosis infusion therapy are vital parts of treatment. We collaborate with medical specialists to ensure patients can receive their infusion treatments or injections in the Gunnison Valley, closer to home.

Expert Care for Blood Disorders

In addition to being an oncologist, Dr. Blanchet is a board-certified hematologist, specializing in blood disorders such as anemia, hemophilia, and other clotting conditions. Dr. Blanchet collaborates closely with patients to manage these conditions through medication, therapy, and ongoing monitoring. While blood disorders can be complex, our team offers clarity and patient-centered care, utilizing the most up-to-date research to guide treatment decisions and ensure the best possible outcomes.

A Guide Through the Journey: Oncology Nurse Navigation

Navigating cancer care can be daunting, but our oncology nurse navigator ensures no patient feels lost or alone. Our dedicated nurse navigator serves as a personal guide, helping patients coordinate appointments and understand their diagnosis and how to access resources. This personalized support makes a world of difference, easing the stress of the treatment journey, allowing patients to focus on their health and well-being.

At Gunnison Valley Health, we are deeply committed to bringing expert oncology, hematology and infusion services to our community.
