Womb to World is a comprehensive maternal health program designed by the Gunnison Valley Health Family Birth Center. It consists of classes, support groups and other resources to help mothers at every stage of motherhood.
This program takes a holistic approach by considering the physical, social, emotional and psychological health of mothers. Along the way, the Family Birth Center delivers ongoing, women-centered and individualized care. Womb to World emphasizes the importance of the fourth trimester – the first 12 weeks postpartum – as many people often overlook the health of the new mom during this period.
A major focus of the program is the mental health of mothers. Mayo Clinic lists “life stress” and “poor social support” as two risk factors for depression during pregnancy. Meanwhile, Postpartum Support International says that many new moms experience mild mood changes while up to one in five experience postpartum depression or anxiety. Womb to World equips mothers with the education, resources and social support to overcome the challenges of motherhood, setting you and your baby up for success.

Allowing Mom and Baby to Bond Family Birth Center
I appreciate you allowing the mom and baby bond just after birth. It is so important because we don't get that time back.
