Treatment Options
We treat all types of wounds using advanced therapies to help you heal, including:
Bioengineered Skin and Tissue Cell Replacement
While skin grafts from a patient's own skin are preferred for certain types of wounds and burns, bioengineered tissues and cells are available to support healing. These may be made of synthetic tissue, non-human tissue, donated human tissue or a composite of these various materials and tissues. We will work with you understand all available options and create an individualized treatment plan.
Compression Therapy
Compression bandages and sleeves are used to apply around the clock pressure to effectively treat the swelling associated with poor venous circulation and the associated wounds.
Tissue Removal (Debridement)
One of the cornerstones of wound healing is the process of removing damaged or dying tissue to promote the growth of new healthy tissue. Our debridement services utilize surgical instruments, specialized dressings that promote tissue health and mechanical debridement to best optimize your wound healing.
Advanced Wound Products
Proper dressing management is essential to encourage healing of chronic wounds. We use a wide range of dressings that are individualized to your specific needs. We will make dressing selections based on the unique nature of your wound as well as any preexisting conditions you may have.
Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
Sometimes referred to as "Wound Vac," this treatment utilized an airtight dressing which is applied over a wound and connected to a small pump which provides constant vacuum force to the wound bed. This process removes excess fluid from the wound and directly stimulates the growth of new tissue.
Total Contact Casting (TCC)
The most crucial step in the healing of a diabetic foot ulcer is relieving pressure from the wound while walking. Total contact casting is considered the gold standard in this offloading process. This helps the patient remain mobile while allowing the ulcer to heal.
All wounds heal differently.
The precise timeline for a wound to heal depends on many factors and differs from person to person. However, if your wound had not healed after 30 days, it is time to seek treatment.
